Software & Internet
Not only have SLG attorneys counseled software and Internet companies from inside companies and as outside advisors, but SLG attorneys have also started software businesses of their own. Several SLG attorneys cut their teeth working for tech and software-focused law firms during the Internet boom in the late 90s and early 2000s. We’ve been in the thick of the industry as models have evolved from ASP to SaaS and we’re ready to face the legal challenges of joining the Matrix*. As service providers who rely on tools to drive efficient, repeatable and scalable solutions, we feel a kinship with our high-tech clients. SLG understands the procurement process and the challenges our clients face when looking to license software or acquire tech services. Our clients include companies specializing in social media, e-commerce, cloud computing, software-as-a-service, and enterprise software solutions. We have negotiated development agreements; assisted in the acquisition of technology, brands and intellectual property; created basic license and service agreements; advised on open source compliance; helped design distribution channels; and managed disputes with customers and vendors.
